creepy ad!

so there's this ad that has been showing up on the bottom of pages on this site. (in fact it's at the bottom of this one right now.) it's for some online lord of the rings thing. my problem is the fact that it has the giant sauron eye as it's focus. as someone who really doesn't like being looked at, (especially by giant evil eyes) i have to say the ad makes me feel squirmy.

I used to work in an optical lab and that had a giant banner for the Indianapolis colts winning the superbowl, it was right in front of my workspace in the lab. It had a huge eyeball about 6 feet by 9 feet big and it stared at me all day. I finally got the lab maintenance guy to cover that part with 2 smaller colts banners. I was much more comfortable after that!

If you use firefox you can get an add-on called Addblock plus. I haven't seen any ads on the internet for years.

wow! puzzle62, that sounds awful. i don't even like those headshots you see in magazines where the eyes are directed right at you. i can't imagine how awful it would be to have a giant eye right in front of you for hours. luckily you got away.

I know what you mean...the front cover of "1984" by George Orwell has a picture of an eye on it, I can't even leave the book on my bedside table without getting freaked out.

I rarely see the ads at the bottom of the pages. I simply don't scroll down that far. (They do sometimes show on the visible part of the page when I use the view newest posts in the thread, but I could easily scroll them back off the screen.)
