WHY is there a *Womens Discussion Forum" on WP in the first place???
Dont get me wrong, I am NOt complaining that there isnt a mens forum, but both sexes use this site I find it very peculiar that there is a forum just for women despite the fact that the Administrator is a guy.... :?

Good question. Probably one that will never get answered.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

There was a men's forum a couple years ago but it was mostly used for threads that belonged in the adult forum, so it was deleted.

Then it's not a forum is it? it's a thread withing a forum...

I find it strange myself that there is a women's forum, we're all grown ups, i doubt there's anything in there that could cause the male brain to implode. Either way, i don't really care... i don't want a men's forum it would be a waste.

because women want a place to go and powder their noses and chat about things that only they can understand.

i have mistakenly posted in the womens discussion area before. (that is because i use the "newest posts" page rather than the set forum page, so i often do not bother to read which section the thread i am replying to comes from. it is simply a "recent thread" as far as i know).

afterward, when i realize i posted in the women's forum, i feel stupid in the same way as i would feel stupid if i ignorantly barged in to a womens toilet.

on a side note, i think it is an interesting observation that i have that if a woman is seen to emerge from a cubicle in a men's toilet room, then the men are pleasantly surprised and happily accept her presence, whereas if a man emerged unexpectedly from a cubicle in a women's rest room, then there would be shrieks of horror and disapproval.

i guess it is because women are gentle, and men see them as potential sex objects when they are found (usually inebriated) in men's rest rooms, and men are conquest oriented, and women see them as predators within their "safe haven" if they are found to be lurking in their toilet's.

i know most of what i say is not correct, but i think it anyway, and i am allowed to say it as well because it is not unlawful to say how i see things.

It's not about causing the male brain to implode or not. It's a place for girl chat, where women can go to talk and be on the same page about similar problems/experiences.

As for why it's been put on WP, I don't know. I just post here. But I accept Alex's judgement in how he's chosen to set his site up.

Thats the funny thing. There ARE other web forums that are specifically for women to talk about girlstuff...Perhaps Alex got in touch with his inner White Knight and decided to cater to aspie women.

look, Zornslemma, I have told you already in another thread that Alex moved the Men's Discussion into the 'InDepth Adult Discussion area about two years ago. I also told you that there is a Mens thread stickied there now, and to just post your heart out. However, it looks like you just like to drag your agenda through thread after thread looking for reactions from people.

^^ or you are having a problem stopping your perseveration on the subject. As much as you would like to have it be some male bashing woman empowering plot, it really was just that simple of a decision.

Women like to have their own place. And we often talk about things that men would rather not listen to. Men don't care as much, about having their own place. I remember being on a parenting forum and to keep things fair we created a special board for dad's. They never went there. It just wasn't the way they rolled. When they talked, it was in the related topical boards.

Over time, forums evolve based on interest and need. If someone feels they need a special place for men's issues, they can say so. But that isn't what I'm reading. The question is a "why" without any statement about if or how it would be used if created. And that is answered with, "there was one but it mirrored the adult board, and so got combined." If I've read correctly ;)

If you think we should have a men's board, address the question of how and if it might get used.

If you ask me, most threads such as the Love and dating forum are already dominated by most of the male members here. Even with some of the female posts, most of the males reactions in them are pretty biased....that's not to say there's been some supportive guys on there.

I'm also getting sick of this....women having it lucky crap. I wasn't going to sound like a femenist but this is getting old as well as the other stereotypes about women who happen to disagree with the feelings males have in how women think. Maybe if there were less of that and people willing to respect eachother's problems from different view points...I wouldn't be griping.

Anyway, I don't really care about gender forums, I hardly post in the women's section but I could see why women would feel more comfortable posting their problems there than the adult and love and dating forum.

I still don't see many men posting in the Men's Sticky thread..... :?
