Yup.. WP dosn't have any say over what advertisements go onto the site.
I use the Ad-Block Plus add-on for Firefox. Then you just don't see the ads.

Oh, I was using my laptop, which can't run firefox because it's a memory hog and I only have 512mb RAM, so any suggestions for chrome users.

Seamonkey with Adblock Plus runs fine under Puppy on a 64 MB machine.

I dunno, it doesn't look like there are plugins for chrome (yet). It is open source, so I'm sure there will be eventually.
Hmm, that stinks that Firefox won't run on your laptop.. it runs on my netbook, but I got that on ebay with a bit of added RAM.

I checked Gizmo's Freeware, and apparently there is a light-weight browser similar to Firefox called K-Meleon. It dosn't have as many plug-ins as Firefox does, but some Firefox plug-ins, including Ad-Block Plus, have been modified to work with it. Maybe that would work on your laptop? I don't know, I haven't used it..

Gizmo's is AWESOME for finding freeware. They group by category, and then within each type of utility, they give the pros and cons of different programs. I soo couldn't live without that site.
