In the thread "What are your political views?" in the PPR forum Awesomeglorious deliberately posted an alteration of my comment as if I had posted his alteration. He put his words in my mouth. I strongly requested an apology for his deliberate misquote and he refused. This deliberate falsification of my words, it seems to me, requires, at minimum, some sort of moderator reprimand.

The post was changed only to signify the correct author of each quote; I have asked that in the future if one is going to alter the content to remove the attribution from the quote (or correct it.).

That is, at minimum satisfactory, but this deliberate shoving of his words into my mouth, it seems to me, is grossly impolite and his reaction is outside the spirit of fair discussion.

In my personal opinion, it was poor form as well, as I have stated... but I believe the resolution found is satisfactory for all parties. There is no gross violation of site rules; continued abuse of the quote function in such a manner could be found to violate the rule regarding provoking other members. At this point, I do not find a pattern indicative of this behavior. If you would like another moderator to weigh in, I invite you to contact them via PM with a link to this thread and the one in question - it will not offend me to get a second opinion.

I appreciate your quick attention and I accept your solution. It is not totally satisfactory in that AG's flat refusal to acknowledge what I consider a gross violation of civil behavior is a clear indication of a personal stance that I find repulsive. But his personality, it seems to me, is basically inflexible and the emotional atmosphere of the discussion probably would not permit him to acknowledge any misdemeanor. In addition I am fully aware of my own somewhat prickly attitude at times but this particular instance, it seems to me, has moved beyond formal acceptable behavior. Thanks, I will not push this any further.
