Your not alone there but yea, i can't really help you prevent that happening unless either you get a static IP or everytime it happens, you will need to get a new IP by reconnecting your internet connection.

It hasn't happened to me, but I keep reading about it in threads... like the one about you Ian getting accidentally banned. I'm just curious what it means.

IPs are used for internet address locations and identification of users.
Banning an IP address disallows the user access from this address. Another user can enter this banned IP range and be identified as a banned member.
