I've tried clearing my cache and cookies as was suggested in another thread.

I get the following:

Server Error 403: Forbidden
Oops! Wrong Planet made a mistake. Please send an email to [email protected] or go back and try again.

anyone else having this problem?

Well, if the coding is generalized according to who is logged in, then see if it gives the same error for going here:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... p=edituser

If you're able to change your avatar readily but not your user profile it seems an oddity, since you have to go through the profile page to get to the avatar page. Are you clicking the "save profile changes" or the "save avatar" button within the first page or would you mind explaining when and where you get the 403 error?

I hope you're not trying to put HTML code or images into your signature.

when I alter my sigline to read something else and click save changes, I am brought to the 403 screen.

And the last time I tried inputting and saving something was an html graphic code. There were times prior to that was just simple ascii text.

Provided alex's statement about HTML coding within your signature, I would think that would be your problem. However, regarding your following statement about just inputing simple ASCII text, does that also give you an error message?

better now, thanks.

Oh, the signature field, it reads, "(255 characters max. Type your signature with HTML coding)"

Just thought that was interesting seeing as how I'm told NOT to use HTML.

And even if HTML were allowed, that would be odd. Makes it sound like HTML is required.

Actually, he's right. It does say that:
