Just letting you know I'm not getting any emails through from Wrong Planet. I've checked that I've put in the correct email address loads of times; and I have put it in correctly. I'm still getting emails from other sites and stuff, just not this one. It all used to work fine, but now nothing.

Do you know what's wrong and can you fix it??

Do you mean E-mail notifications? If so, then they are on the list to be looked at. Can't say when they'll be fixed, though. Sorry.

Yeah, I haven't gotten any for a while now. I added the WP e-mail to my contacts and it's not in my spam folder either.

Yup...last one here's 24th of March. It's happened before, and Hotmail's spam filtering was blamed for the problem, though I struggle to believe that. The workaround is to click "find all posts by [username]" in your user profile, but it's not very efficient.

Here's another (perhaps more useful) way.

At the top of the main wrong planet forum index page:

http://www.wrongplanet.net/forums.html

Click 'view your posts' (up at the top right), and it will come up with all the threads you've posted in that have been recently posted to.

http://www.wrongplanet.net/forumssearch ... earch.html

Since the notification problem is more widespead now, we are assuming that this is a problem on our end, and we have alerted administration to the problem. Not much more we can do but sit tight.

or is it a thin line between the two

Yeah, I meant notifications by the way. Kinda glad it isn't just a problem I'm having anyway. I was getting a little worried about that. Hope all goes well with fixing it.

You're welcome!

I only discovered this little trick recently. It's pretty useful.

Definitely looks like WP has a problem sending email notifications to hotmail addresses.

I changed my email address on WP from a hotmail to a gmail one and the email notifications started working again.

Have no problem with other email that is being sent to my hotmail address.

Just strange that it was working fine sending email notifications to an hotmail address, then it stop all of sudden last week.

I actually prefer the new way of getting my notifications that Moog said about now. But it's good to see that everything is working again with hotmail.
