Should the wrongplanet chat room be moved to its own server?

Over the past few years #wrongplanet has been getting bigger, and any problems that occur in #wrongplanet end up getting brought in to #freenode, I do not believe that #freenode will tolerate this forever
I am not going to name anyone here

So instead of waiting until this decision is forced, may I suggest that there would be an IRC server started at irc.wrongplanet.net

I want to see what other people think of this too, and some votes

I would personally suggest moving it to a dedicated aspergers network, such as the chatautism network, or my network, aspie central, which has 2 connected server and a hub, so it is stable

I agree with the channel not being on freenode, regardless, they are ill equipped to deal with aspergers problems... Such as the issues that have erupted over the last few weeks concerning different user accounts and nicknames on the IRC, such issues would be easy to deal with on my network for sure, along with Chat Autisms.

on a further note, seeing as chatautism and wp haven't seen eye to eye in the past then a dedicated server or somewhere alternative to chatautism would work

I support wrongplanet being moved to its own network. Freenode is not equiped to handle problems with people that have aspergers, and freenode is not ment to be a network that support people with aspergers. I am a example of this problem. My channel was taken over by a guy named ango. I had a melt down and before I knew it I was klined forever. Freenode is not meant to understand other people with autism and freenode is not really a good support for people with autism like me. I support the move of wrongplanet.

Yes, Chat Autism is probably a bad idea as Alex is not very welcome there. My network would do well, consider i have multiple IRCops, with as much, if not more control than me, so that should reassure some people

I believe that wrongplanet should have its own network. That is what I believe.

In theory, wrong planet could have it's own IRC network within.. About 10 minutes, All Alex would have to do is add a cname in the domain settings from GoDaddy, to direct to my network, which would allow people to connect on a WP IRC network ^_^

The whole point of this is not to borrow any one elses server time (chatautism or aspiecentral), but instead wrongplanet have there own ircserver

For the record, the topic starter is now k-lined from Freenode (banned from the entire network). That should tell you something about his intentions. Granted, it probably WOULD be a good idea if the chat was moved to its own dedicated server operated by Alex, but that would require time and money.

Thus why it would be a good idea to have a few #wrongplanet ops be IRCops on my network, which is ready made, costs nothing, and there can still be the irc,wrongplanet,net for users to connect to

I haven't been in the chat room, but what's going on that is so nasty?

WP bandwith is already terrible =P
