I have an idea. I think we should have a thread listing all the moderators on this forum for reference. That way, all the newer members know who to contact if there happens to be a problem for any reason. Can we make this a sticky topic? What do you all think?

Alex once asked me to be a moderator. I wrote back that that was great with me, but i never heard back. What happened?

Archmage:

I'm sorry it took me so long to write back. I have been very busy and forgot that I had even posted further in this thread.

Anyway, Alex is very busy. He may be busier than I am, if not busier. He may not have realized that you had wanted to be a moderator in this forum before. I just wanted to let you know that.

Thank you. I haven't seen very many of them online in quite some time.

I have one addition to make. Some people have noticed that a member by the name of Shirley is on the mod list. She is not a mod and has no part in moderators' duties. She is a retired psychotherapist who has offered to give advice to the mods when we believe a member is in crisis - seriously suicidal, at risk for causing harm to others, etc. The reason she has mod status is to give her access to the mod forum, where she can post advice and suggestions for the mods.

I just saw QuirkyCarla's name in light blue at the top of the General forum and you don't have her on your list. Wouldn't that color mean she is a System Administrator? There is no notation of that under her avatar. The moderator group tag at the tops of the fora says there are no moderators at all, but that may be a bug still left over from the hacking incident. There are still a few bugs from the hack. For example, the new posts tag still does not work for some people.

Yep, that's what blue means. I've asked Alex to clarify since there has never been any announcment that she's an admin and I've never seen her involvement, other than as a member. If she's an admin I hope she can change the titles of people with over 1000 posts. We have two people waiting.

Or maybe Carla herself can explain.

We really do need better updating when it comes to knowing who our mods are. It's always a surprise to see who's been added, and I haven't got the first clue when someone's status has been changed. I propose a sticky with announcements that say something like, "__________ has become a moderator for the ________ Forum" or "_____ is no longer an active moderator of the _____ Forum." That'd be in addition to the mother list of all mods, which would be changed accordingly, and ideally, have the name(s) of the forum(s) moderated by that member.

Well, now almost none of the moderators I mentioned are actually still moderating...

Does anyone have any sort of idea who is moderating now that most of the seasoned mods and admins have left?????

I am no longer administrating or moderating the site. To the best of my knowledge, the moderators are CockneyRebel, ed, Fiz, JayShaw, monastic, and techstepgenr8tion. However I haven't seen any of them acting as mod or enforcing the TOS as it's written, so I'm not sure if any of them are active as moderators.

Hello? Any of you, are you out there?
