Emu Egg

Sorry if this is a commonly asked question, but I noticed that each user has a title beneath their username. Mine is Emu Egg.

What is this Emu Egg title and what does it mean? I only joined a few days ago, but I've seen it on users from 2005, so I don't know for sure that it's because I'm new.

There is also a series of white blocks beneath my name, and I don't know what these are or what they do.

Would appreciate either having these questions answered, or for me to be redirected to a FAQ that deals with such queries.

As you post more you'll see that the "Emu Egg" status will change and you will "evolve" into something more. Or in other words, these are post ranks.
If you ever reach 1000 posts you get to choose your own rank.
The bars beneath represent a similar kind of thing.

What do they do? Not much, other than symbolise your relative status, I guess.

What TPP said. If you want your status to change (It doesn't really matter) you need to post more. It's pretty much the same thing on all forums.

Hey, thanks for that information! I'm surprised how many people still have butterfly, but I guess they changed it to that after 1.000 posts.

Also, I'm surprised that you're all so friendly here. Not used to receiving such courtesy on the internet, so just letting you know I appreciate it!

Oh, but make sure you're not getting confused here - it says 11,901 reached Butterfly or better, and since 10,009 were the next rank up, only 1892 were actually Butterflies...not sure if you knew that but I clarified anyway! Of course, I did that post two months ago, so the numbers will have changed a bit.
