I made a post talking about the dotnet programming framework, and I had to spell it out using letters instead of just writing xxxxNET because it thinks xxxxNET is a complete xxxxx

xxxx= a period.
xxxxx= the U the R the L

It then denies my post because people with under 5 posts can't post xxxxxs. wuf.

Also apparently I can't write xxxxx because it blocks me there too.

As you've discovered there is no serious attempt made to fully parse and validate a URL for the purposes of imposing posting restrictions.
If a string of characters contains enough components of a URL or looks like it might be one, then it's treated as if it is a URL.

You could just write dotNET instead, or wait until you've made more than 5 posts.

I'm sorry you can't post - but I have to say that is really quite amusing.

it was amusing posting about this problem, because the words that I needed to describe the problem kept on getting the post blocked! I laughed quite heartily.
