I've noticed the view counter for threads on here seems to increase in increments of three. For example, if a thread gets 3 views the counter says it got 9 views. So unless I'm wrong a popular thread that's gotten 9000 views actually got 3000. lol

Anybody else notice this?

Alex explained this a long time ago. Something about saving system resources by only updating once every three hits and then incrementing the count by three. One of those bizarre quirks of the site software.

It appears to update after one hit but says it got three. I viewed this thread immediately after starting it then it said 3 views a few seconds later even though this particular board isn't very busy. In other words I was probably the only one that looked at it once.

However, I'm not sure if it counts views from the same user that keeps clicking on a thread that hasn't gotten any further replies.

What's happening with the WP server? It's been going up and down, over and over, all day long. No other websites seem effected.

WP's content is sourced from different servers and there appear to be problems with accessing some of those - I'm seeing delays and partial page loads here.
