Advertising a local group

Hi,

Recently I visited a local social group for people on the spectrum, run by a psychologist/therapist, and mentioned that I was trying to start an activity group for young adults in the area. I will try to join her group, but she also told me it might be a good idea to advertise my group here on WP.

I was wondering, where would be the appropriate place to do that?

Is there really no place on here I can do this??

Promoting anything on here is against the rules.

To clarify, I am not trying to promote a commercial service of any kind. But I can also understand if you don't want umpteen messages promoting events and groups in every corner of the globe.

I would be interested if there are venues somewhere for advertising social opportunities to the AS/HFA community. My experience has shown that of all the in-person groups I've found in my area, people in one group often don't know about the others, and this makes it time-consuming to find them all.
