Can I delete my own post in a forum?

I asked a simple question with some details on this site and getting way off topic and arguing. I have aspergers but gaw-lee are we bull headed! No one can take a hint or follow my point. So I just want to delete it.

no, because you can't delete other people's posts with it

If the post is less than 7 days old, why not go back and remove your OP by editing it?

"Your OP" = your Original Post: either the first in a thread you started (then maybe "Opening Post"), or some specific post.
"The OP" = the Original Poster: someone who started a thread, or the person creating some specific post.

I don't think people weren't able to follow the thread, I think some of us(myself included) took issue with what was being said about atheists, and your increasingly rude/dismissive responses. Threads sometimes turn into debates, I don't think it was anything personal against you.
