An FYI with Mozilla, when some of these ads are run they freeze and essentially grab the whole browser for a good 1:00 - 1:30. Sometimes it'll just happen occasionally, sometimes every three minutes. I've known Mozilla to be a little rough around the edges so it wouldn't surprise me if its the only browser doing this but I'd be curious if any others are doing this as well.

My Firefox is quite stable with WP (and all other sites) but I do have the Adblock Plus add-on.

^ Likewise - and even when briefly running Firefox "au naturel" to experience the ads in all their umm, glory - everything was still fine and ran quite normally.

Lately, I've seen college ads bypass my Adblock, and that has been freezing my browser when using this site.

The "NoScript" extension with catch those that AdBlock Plus can't.

What exactly does No Script do?

NoScript puts you in control of whatever scripts or other code a site expects to be able to run on your hardware. Per site, they can be enabled or disabled always, or selectively "on the fly", and with some fine level of control too.
Scripts or other code (JavaScript for example) are often used to provide whizz-bang effects on a site so blocking that visual noise is useful anyway - but they're also used to kick off ads.

^ This can sometimes happen with any site, very rarely, often depending on your local net conditions - but it's not Firefox's fault: that's just the messenger and it seems to have been shot.
There may also have been a brief connectivity problem as a result of work being carried out in relation to the recent attack.

Judging by the way I've just connected with no problem, and checking the number of other users currently connected, there appears to be no problem more closely related to WP itself.

Thx and good to know. I've very rarely had that happen either and agreed - it'll leave as quickly as it came.

My ISP's still screwing with this site for some reason. With Mozilla it'll give the "Wait 5 seconds" page and then tell me its a broken link. With Google Chrome it'll give me the same "Wait 5 seconds" message but it'll open WP. Been like this for about two weeks now I think. :?
