Posting YouTube videos

Lately, this hasn't been working. I click the "post a YouTube video" button at the top, put in the movie URL, and hit "post." All that appears is "[youtube]movie URL[/youtube]" in my posting. No screen.

This is exactly what I've done in the past and it's always worked. I first noticed this one or two months ago and thought it was just a fluke. It looks like something is wrong here--is anyone else having this problem?

YouTube's been making all of their videos more secure, so they're doing "https" instead of "http." Deleting the extra "s" in "https" should fix the problem.

The short-form YouTube URLs will also fail - those starting with http://youtu.be/ instead of http://www.youtube.com/

Ah, this would explain why I can't see most videos people post. I browse WP using HTTPS and have to manually click "Load insecure content" in Chrome every time. (There doesn't seem to be a way to allow it permanently.) It would be great if the [youtube] tag allowed https:// URLs. I know WP software is in maintenance mode and all, but I bet this is literally a matter of adding "s?" to some regex somewhere.
