Those world things next to each forum
Some of them are greyish of colour, while others are in full colour. What do each of these mean (sorry if there's anything else which states this, and it's annoying that I managed to miss it , but can I have a link to where it explains what they mean, or it re-explained. Sorry if this seems demanding or if this is not this place to ask newbie questions about (probably) obvious things
If you move your mouse cursor over one of them on the forum index, a message appears explaining what it means.
means there are new posts.
means there are no new posts.
While you're in a forum you can mark all topics as read by clicking the "Mark all topics read" link, immediately above the right-hand "Last Post" column, and on checking back at the forum index page you should now see the icon for that forum indicates no new posts. (unless someone posted while you were getting back to the index page )
If you do this with each forum you're interested in reading, when you've finished with it, then each time you view the forum index page it should be easy to see those forums which have received updates.
Unfortunately... if you log out of your account the status of all threads is changed to "read", and this can also happen at other apparently random times - consequently the indication is only "mostly correct" during the time you're using WP.
Inside a forum, threads with new posts are indicated by the icon, and those with no new posts by the
icon.
Again, moving your mouse pointer over them causes an explanation to appear.
