This is just something I saw on FB and reminded me of my problems using the site at times and everybody telling me that I should use something else besides internet explorer. If it needs to be moved, move it please but I put it here because this is where the discussion was about it. I just thought it was cute. So here it is.

I have Safari on here but I don't like it. I also don't like Google Chrome, which is here too. If I could, I would still be using Windows 98SE and AOL 7.0

I don't really see why anyone would want to use Internet Explorer these days. Both Chrome and Safari are faster, offer many free extensions, and the search bars are no where near as intrusive as IE's.

What is it that you like about IE?

I don't like changes to my computer. I like things to look exactly the same when it comes to my computer. While I'm pretty flexible about almost everything else, this is one area that I'm not. It may be due to not being all that competent on a computer, but I still like the familiar look of what I'm used to. I know the others are a lot better, and my kids use them. But I however, am stuck in the 90s. ;-)

I use Opera and if you only do standard stuff, the user utility is pretty much the same, same name for same stuff, quiet similar menus and so on… So my parents are also not much into computer, but my dad managed pretty well to use the internet on my computer after a few minutes, and he never used anything but Internet Explorer before. As a standard user its pretty whayne which of the offered programs you use, Internet Explorer simply has one big misadvantage thats not his own fault: Whenever a hacker will try to programm a virus, damage software, ... to harm other internet users and this program is based on a manipulation of your browser, most people will try to focus their damage programm on the Internet Explorer, simply because its a very public Browser that many people use, so by focusing on it you can harm more people, as if you would focus on another Browser. So I dont give into all that blame of Internet Explorer, for a normal user its ok and my parents as example had simply no use for most of the utilities other browsers offer.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. My mother is similar in that respect, now that I think about it.

A net browser without adblock isn't a net browser.

I used to use internet explorer, until one day I downloaded an AdBlocker to get rid of some annoying ads, and somehow something called sweetIM got downloaded with it and it really slowed down internet explorer ever since, even after I removed this sweetIM crap from my computer's programs and the internet settings and everywhere else I could think of. It wasn't just a bit slow, it was, like, f****d up kind of slow. I couldn't type quick on the internet forums because it kept on missing out letters. You can imagine how bothersome that is when typing in your password somewhere! It was so unbearable and was causing feelings of stress and anger, so I had to kiss goodbye to internet explorer and switch to google chrome. Things have been better since, except I keep getting these annoying ad yieldmanager and adan1 ads popping up on every 50th or 100th click (or whatever it is), but I daren't download AdBlocker again, otherwise you might have to just read this post all over again......
