I notice that there is a Women's Discussion Forum, but not a Men's. Why is this? I'm wondering because I think men need a place to discuss their gender specific issues. It seems that this stuff is ending up in L&D, which might now more appropriately be called "Hate and Blaming."

There used to be one and it was removed.

Did it get too rowdy?

I don't know. It was before I came onto the site.

When it was removed... did anyone say "THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS" ?

There used to be one but it turned into a cesspool.

It was a bit of a locker room. Alex removed it because the topics in it made it a carbon copy of the adult forum.

Hm... it would be a good idea to the extent it would clean up L&D and the Adult Forum a bit. Besides, there are some legitimate topics that men would only want to discuss with other men, and it IS unfair that there is one for women but not one for men.

I actually created a forum specifically for male members here (well, outside of WP, of course). Didn't work out because it wasn't really needed after all by the male members. The irony is it attracted female members more than male members.

It is certainly unfair.

But the way I see it is that the women's forum is itself, more of a privilege than a right. We haven't really turned it into a cesspool as such, and most of the time, are quite well behaved in there.

If the guys were given a chance and screwed it up, considering it is a privilege and not a right - well then, is it still right to call it unfair?

Maybe if enough time passes and there are different members, they may think about trying it again? (and I hope they do!)

We don't need to seek refuge in our own forum, anyway.

And noisy. Only around a handful of WP male members joined and were active. The rest of the male members who had been fighting for a forum for men were just noise.

Either that, or they were just too lazy to join an external site.
