Lately I have been noticing more and more video ads at the bottom of the page that play audio. I will just be browsing around, minding my own business...and BAM! "Have you suffered from messy poached eggs for years? Have you always wanted the perfect egg in just 2 minutes? TRY EGG EASY TODAY!!"

These ads are really loud and really annoying. Not to mention, I usually am listening to music while I'm browsing this site, so the ads complete disrupt the music and my mood, and force me to close out of my browser entirely to get rid of it.

I strongly think that the audio ads need to be removed. I don't know about anyone else but they significantly disrupt my experience here.

First get the Google chrome browser and then get two extensions... well three extensions... AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, and FlashBlock. Then you will see NO ads, and nothing will turn on automatically.

I thought about that, but the one thing that worries me is the installation disclaimer:

"Adblock can:
-Access all data of your data on all websites
-Access your browser tabs and internet history"

That basically makes it sound like I give up 100% of my online privacy, and from that wording it sounds like they would even have access to things like passwords, bank account info, personal e-mails, etc. Disclaimers like that are the same reason I never added any of the app things on my facebook.

"The notice you see about having access to your history and website data is automatically generated because AdBlock runs on every tab. Rest assured it doesn't look at your private data!"

Chrome Web Store - AdBlock

I'm not going to tell anyone how to do their job on WP But.... If I have to turn my volume off or get a third party program in order to avoid these audio ads, there is something very wrong with that in my opinion.

Yeah, Pondering, not to mention that this site is becoming increasingly useless technologically as more and more stuff breaks due to old age...

I'd recommend blocking ad sites using the hosts file too: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I used to get those annoying audio ads, and it used to make me jump if I forgot the volume on the computer was left on loud. I also hated those ads what show pictures of things you don't exactly want to see whilst you're eating, like a skin rash or a woman pulling the wrinkles off her face. Yuk!

I got adblocker and those other two on to my browser. I did not miss the ads, but it worked a little too well, because it also hid some words in posts that, before the adblocker, were highlighted and underlined as a link, so those words were just missed out entirely, making some things hard to read for me. Like if ''Asperger's Syndrome'' was highlighted and underlined, the adblock hid the actual words, so a sentence in somebody's post would read ''I have been diagnosed with last week''. That became so frustrating but I'm too stupid to learn what to do about it so I had to put up with it. Thankfully now the adblocker isn't hiding these link words any more, so things are readable again. I suppose this means my adblocker has to be updated again. Ohh, computers are such non-stop hard work!

I don't think that any Flash should appear on this site. All Flash does is crash.

In fact, if anyone knows how I can limit the Flash plugin in Chrome to only working on the domain youtube.com, I'd appreciate it.
