I don't know really.

I kind of like it the way it is, thank you very much.

I mean what if I can't figure out how it all works and stuff?

I see a report button. I'd think very carefully about adding that feature, at least without substantially increasing the size of the mod team, as it will exponentially increase the amount of reports they have to sift through, many of them frivolous.

I've been having another look. It's hard to take it all in at once.

It does look a bit bright for me. but as for the format, I think I'll probably get used to it, or at least have fun getting to grips with the whole thing.

Maybe a change will be a good thing. :thumright:

Alex, for whatever my opinion is worth to you, I would not concern myself too much with losing users due to a design change, even if the users are autistic. It will aggravate them briefly, they may leave for a couple of days, but they will be back because this is the only site with the critical mass of forum users, and because switching sites would be an even bigger system shock anyway.

Ravenclawgurl, this is just what happens. Every time Facebook changes something major, users come out of the woodwork to protest the change. A month later, nobody even remembers that a change occurred and if they go back and look at a screenshot of the site the way it used to be, they think it looks primitive. They have a bit of a longer memory if there are any regressions, but Facebook is pretty thorough about preventing regressions.

More importantly than design, though... does it fix the many errors that the current software is producing? Functionality should be paramount.

Sorry that I cannot say that I prefer your new design to the present one. Where did you hide the emoticons? 8O Some of us need them to fully express our feelings on a topic.

^^Yes I think you are right.

And I must thank Alex for forewarning us, because it would have been like coming to the wrong planet, coming to Wrong Planet if it had changed and he hadn't.

As long as it doesn't have any of these new audio/video ads, I'm all for it!

I love it and think it looks polished. It is change, I hate change, but I will get over it. Pls keep the "view my posts" and "new since last" buttons on front. A request if I may? A "night mode" color scheme like Reddit has.
thanks Alex :)
