The clean look I like but this is only superficial.

The real benefits are the really fast load time and error free operation.


I am guessing this upgrade has cost quite a bit?

I must say, from a technical point of view, I'm impressed with the fact that they not only migrated all the users, posts and private messages, but made sure old links to posts continue to work.

Also, the "Foe" feature sounds very useful. I haven't tested it yet, but it sounds like the "ignore member" ability many have requested.

One thing I'm missing from the old WP software is the "ego search" (view your own posts link on the main page), which sorted results by the time of last post to the thread (not the time of your post). I used it all the time to see the updates to any threads I participated in, no matter how long ago.

Yes, I miss that too. I always used that search first every time I came here and today it was gone. :(

That's indeed great; I wondered if links would work. However, not all of them do. The typical url, the one you got by opening a thread from the thread list (like http://www.wrongplanet.net/post***.html) works. But the one you got in the notification e-mails (http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... opic&p=***) doesn't. Hopefully this doesn't cause many borken links since most links use the former url.

Click My Account (top right)
Click Overview (left side, underneath Options).
Click Show your posts.

Now, if they will enable the two finger zoom in mobile devices so we can make the text bigger. that would be a big help. I don't know why that's turned off on this site.
