Ever since you upgraded the site there are some old threads missing! Like this one!

There might be some random post disappearances too. The "First time in history!! ! ! The NT/AS open hotline ! ! ! ! ! !" thread had IIRC 143 or 144 pages before the upgrade, now it has just 136.

It may have other causes too, such as changes in how the posts are divided into pages.

The "What movies have you seen recently?" topic was missing in the TV & Movie forum, but it was still there when I looked at my list of recent posts. When I posted a new reply, the topic shows up again in the forum.

I looked for the missing threads in the "View Your Posts", selected my last post in that thread, made a new post, and the thread was back.

^that's what i did also. i was fearful that a few of my favorite threads had vanished.

even if they are completely gone and they haven't been moved to another forum (like the "Guess the random WP member" game) or moved a few pages back, we can always start another.

Guess I'm not the only one that noticed missing threads. I saw that the "Where is my..." forum game is not listed and I KNOW that I've posted in that. It also doesn't seem to be showing up in my posts in my account page. Bug or glitch perhaps? :? :?:

Some threads are still there, but have lost a lot of messages. You can still see the last ones while composing a reply, but then your reply doesn’t show up in the normal view, either.

The Latin thread in the Foreign Languages section has been badly mangled.

Well such things can happen with entire site upgrades, perhaps these threads will have to be re-created.

That's happened to me too on new WP.

Oh boy. That means that stuff from that period was not successfully migrated and transferred to the new site.

Does that mean it's gone forever, or can it be fixed somehow?

If they have a backup of the old database (which they hopefully do have) it should be possible to get it back.

I remember the same thing happened on another forum I go to. They upgraded and then posts disappeared and I wasn't going to bother composing my reply again in a thread.
