Am I imagining things or does the new WP have a feature that automatically signs me out if I have been inactive for a certain time period? What is the purpose of this?

It does and it's annoying from time to time.

you aren't imagining things. it's been happening all the time on mobile with me - and only on mobile, perhaps a security feature so people don't mess around with your account when left inactive w/o logging out?

if that's so, it's alright but for me it's counter productive since anyone can access the site by my desktop, but mobile is passcode-protected.

Yes this happens to me too. It's annoying when it does this when using WP on my phone. Since the site updated, I couldn't use my old password for some reason, so had to get the site to send me a new password. I have nowhere on my phone to store notes like passwords and things, so I have to go on to my email inbox and find the email what WP had sent me with my new password, and copy and paste that on to WP. I do select the ''log me in with this username and password every time'' option underneath, but it doesn't make any difference, so I still have to do it manually. It's OK doing that on a computer, but the internet on my phone is so much slower. I am no good at remembering a bunch of random letters and numbers. Maybe I should create a password myself what I will remember.

I had to click a box that says to keep me logged in at all times so this never happens.
