Why was Wrongplanet down for hours?

Wrongplanet was down for a while this morning, what happened?

we're in the process of reverting the site to the state it was in before the 2nd stage of the migration due to all the bugs introduced by the migration.

Oh it was down, 8O it gave "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server" :(

Oh, that's what happened? I thought that I had been IP banned for some reason.

I registered on aspiescentral to ask them if they had the same problems. It's the one other site that I know that also has a number of WP members.

I thought it might be something worse than it turned out to be. The unavailable pages came up as "Forbidden," so I wondered what I'd done to be forbidden. But a proxy server gave the same message, and so did a website that tries out URLs and tells you if it's really down, so I figured it was either a maintenance outage or an attack on the server. Didn't help when I found a YouTube video being nasty about WP (I'm pretty sure it was a parody, but for a while it looked like the world might have gone on the offensive).

Glad things are back to normal. :D

It was also reported to be the same. I would not have known tbh since I spend most my time over there than I do over here.

WP went down for me some time last night, and up until now, whenever I tried accessing it I kept getting a 404 error. :? I'm wondering what may have caused this.
