Video ads with sound suddenly playing

In the last few days, I have suddenly had obnoxious sounds pouring from my computer from highly irritating video ads playing at the bottom of WP. This is something I typically associate with sleazy, spammy sites I try to avoid. I don't return to news sites that autoplay videos next to their articles, for example, because I really hate this intrusion... and now it is coming from here!

I don't mind the static ads at all, but anything with a sound file is unacceptable. I feel like I have been assaulted by these pages when that happens. I am addicted to WP, and I think it would be hard not to come back, but this might do it. Is there anyway we could go back to just having silent ads?

Yes that is so annoying. I'm reading and suddenly am told my cats want to brush their teeth....or something. I mute the speakers but it is still an intrusion.

Use AdBlock Plus if you use FireFox.

Yeah, this happened to me last week in the library. It was totally quiet, and I was sitting at a computer among a bunch of strangers also sitting at computers, and I had no idea the volume on my computer was on it's highest. Then suddenly some irritating music and talking came pouring out from my computer, distracting everybody in the library. The worst thing was I had a few tabs running, and I could not detect which one all the noise was coming from, and then I discovered it was from Wrong Planet!

That was embarrassing. I do have a bone to pick with you, Wrong Planet!! !
