PMs that remain in the outbox

I've noticed that private messages sometimes stay in my outbox for quite a while, although the status shows that they have been sent. For example, I have a pm that's been in the outbox for over a week, yet it gives the date and time it was sent.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Yes, they're supposed to remain in the outbox until they're read. Only after they've been read will they move to the "sent" folder.
