Although you're always free to simply leave and never post again, they will not delete your account or remove posts (not if the posts aren't against the rules). The only reason I'm saying this is because another WP member just asked the same thing in another thread.

I think a ban is probably for the best. Already in my short time here I have had two people reply to my posts in an unsupportive and critical fashion . That kind of tells me my time here isn't likely to be a good one and that I am not suited to these forums.
I had thought this might be a place I found people with common issues and could get support and understanding but it seems it was a misjudgement on my part. I don't belong. I piss people off. Time to go.

I'm sorry you feel that way. May I suggest that two people are not an adequate sample size to judge that this will keeping happening? Also the problem is as likely to be with them as with you. I had a few responses to my posts that were critical or even ridiculous, like one person who claimed I was a man masquerading as a woman. Even with such nonsense the majority of other people were supportive and interesting in the long run.

^ this, entirely. i have made posts i regret in my earlier WP days as well, less than lovely responses. so not all of us get off to very smooth starts, offline or online, others here can relate to that! it likely will get better.

but that's just me, if you really desire to be banned i can do that right now.

Having had things explained to me re the low replies/views ratio I feel more secure about staying. I am still not sure I belong here but sense there are people here who may understand me a bit better than normal.
