Avatar, nickname won't update

I've already posted about the inability to change signatures. But, I just realized that if I try to change my avatar, it only updates on the profile but not the posts.

Also, if I change the nickname, even just to add capitalization, it doesn't update anywhere. When are these issues gonna be fixed?

pretty sure nicknames do show up in two places, in the title bar and as the author when you post to someone's message wall. though you have to first manually select it under Display name publicly as.

if you've done that, dunno.
