Today when I looked through the pages of threads in "Posts Since Last Visit," I hit pages and pages of threads posted in Japanese or Chinese characters, as far as I can tell. (No offence to those whose language I did not correctly identify).

I haven't seen this before and I'm wondering if this is a browser glitch on my part -- I'm using Firefox, latest version updated -- or is someone just spamming the boards?

I took a screen shot of what I'm seeing, but I don't know how to post it in this post from my picture files.

It's not a browser glitch, it's spam. There's a whole lot of spam lately containing posts with only Chinese characters in it.

Don't want to get ahead of myself but I think I sorted it - found a way to mass delete.

Yeah, been working on it now as well. Good work, by the way^ .

I'm pretty sure most of the characters are Korean (Hangul?), IP search reveals at least one bot is "posting" from Seoul.

Thanks to everyone for the reports, there really were many, closing them all when dealt with was a formidable task in itself. :)

Thank you to all the hands on deck who tackled the problem, that must have been a nightmare task!

There are over two pages in Random forum, and also quite a bit in News. I think it's Korean too, but I'm not an expert. Since I can't read it I'm not sure if it is spam but it looks like it since many of the posts are just repetitions of the same symbol. Is this an attack from North Korea? Run!

Korean spam promoting gambling sites. I keep seeing the words 'casino', 'baccarat', 'jackpot' and so on.

There should be an international coalition against spammers and the other scammers on the interwebs. I'm talking drone strikes here.

I think Kip put on another thread, that at least one of the IPs showed Seoul.
