Ok of course not to offend...but its bad enough those behind this site decided autistic people are quite fine with random pop up ads, hence pop up ads have become just a nucience on this site I have to tolerate...a little annoying to mute them or close them but whatever at least I had the option...though its still really annoying when the ad restarts whenever you reload the thread or whatever to respond to posts.

But now I'll have WP open, go in a thread and then an ad will start playing and its not visible anywhere so I have no option to mute/close it....and then just have to close this site and re-open it and then re-find whatever thread and hope the ad is gone. It is really annoying because I like to listen to music when I'm on the computer and it interrupts it a lot....also if I am not listening to music and just want quiet its just obnoxious.

Any way to stop the ads that pop up at the bottom of the threads, or at least always make them visible with the option to mute or close them? I mean sorry but really since when do autistic people enjoy random obnoxious noise that ads are? I guess I am just curious who they are even directed at since I imagine most here are probably annoyed by them like me....are the companies really expecting us to go buy their product because they put an annoying pop up ad on a page here, IDK to me I am less likely to buy whatever product because of that.

Yes - just use AdBlock or uBlock Origin for Chrome (chrome://extensions/?id=cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm). I'm using uBlock and don't see (nor hear) any ads. :)

That won't prevent you-tube videos from showing up here or anything weird like that will it?

That definitely shouldn't be happening. What browser are you using ?

I am using chrome...but yeah if its not the site then it might just be something wrong with my computer. But have not had that issue in a few days so perhaps whatever was causing it was solved. Lol I was kinda grumpy when I posted this...guess it would not make sense for such ads to be here intentionally.

For anyone who is annoyed by random, autoplaying flash ads with sound, I'd recommend using an extension to block Flash objects. The one I'm using in Chrome is FlashControl, and there's a similar one for Firefox that I think is called FlashBlock.
