Is this happening to everyone?

When it happens (and it seems to be every time I post now, even replying to private messages), I keep being told to run a virus scan, but it's happening on different computers.

I doubt any of my machines are infected with anything.

Not that I've seen but I'll see if one pops up after this one - I do get ridiculous amounts do redirection to ad pages on my phone, however.

I think quite a few people have been complaining about it. So it must be commonly happening. I think someone was saying certain actions seem to trigger captcha. If you search the WrongPlanet.net discussion sub-forum, you may find a thread about it. Well, this thread probably should be in there, too. But I guess you get more replies in GAD.

I've posted four times, and no issues.

Do you have an ad blocker going or using an IP blocker? On another board, those will trigger a captcha.

I had a situation a few years ago where an unsolicited 'virus scan' popped up on my computer. I hit the scan button and it put viruses into my computer. My P.C. guy said you have to watch out for this kind of thing, so if the scan program isn't one already installed in your computer, don't run a scan.

Honestly, wtf is this s**t. You sometimes type out an entire post or PM and it sends you to a stupid CAPTCHA page that once you complete, you have to start all over again. It completely wipes out everything you wrote. Who out there thought that this was a good idea? What exactly does this accomplish?

I have a friend that I chat with daily who is experiencing the same problem.

I have been experiencing the same issue, as mentioned by Noca, for the past 3 days. It is horribly frustrating. Especially when playing word games (although, perhaps, seemingly insignificant, but not to me, as I feel I am abandoning the game, out of nowhere, or leaving another player in the dark as to why I suddenly vanished, or what have you. Not that I am saying I am important. Ugh, I am off topic and sounding foolish). If something can be done, to fix the issue, or, if I need to do something on my end, ie; adjust settings on my computer, I would be grateful for suggestions. Many thanks -

In addition to the above, I have recently attempted to create a post (which I have never attempted, before, if that makes any difference), but, I get a "403 Error" message, which states that I do not have permission to do so, and within the same error message it is stated that WP is undergoing website maintenance at this time (or something to that effect). Just an FYI.

It's not happening to me.

It is happening at every submit and preview. Have to go through 3 or 4 captchas per submission now and occasional losing what I wrote. Just turn the feature off.

Almost every darn time. I was thinking that it was because I'm NT. One time it did it every time when I was replying to a post that I just went ahead and cancelled my post - too bad, because we all know I have such valuable NT knowledge to offer! (No comments from the peanut gallery, please)

Hey! I'm just finding out the "thing" doesn't come up on my computer - I have Norton antivirus. It comes up several times on my Iphone. I have Norton on my Iphone though too. Idk.

Now it's happening to me as well!
