Avatars?

I am sure this has been asked before here but I will ask again as it seems that no one ever answered the previous posts/question:

Why does my avatar not display?

Note: For some reason I find avatars very important as they often/always say something about the person via a visual display; it compulsively bothers me not having one.

I have uploaded an avatar properly and it displays in my control panel area but when I post... there is nothing.

I see other users' avatars - Why is this?

Obviously, some sort of bug. (?)

Well, I figured it out. What I did yesterday looked completely different on the page where you upload/apply the avatar.
