We should give the spammers a taste of their own medicine. I recommend that you dial *67 before the phone number to make your number anonymous. Ask them if their refrigerator is running, waste their time, tell them to stop messing with Wrong Planet, or do whatever else you want. Before you hang up though, let them know that it won't stop until they leave Wrong Planet alone.

The phone number the spammers gave is +91-9680853049. Let's make them regret giving us this information.

Let the games begin!

I don't know that this is a good idea.

At best it solves nothing, at worse it makes you a target.

I'd recommend people not do this.

At best it wastes their time and annoys them hopefully to the point of not messing with us and at worst they will have no idea what my number is or who I am because dialing *67 before the phone number hides my number from whoever I am calling.

Wasting their time or wasting yours?

You can't have one without the other,

Are these toll-free numbers, or you have some way to do that? Definitely not worth wasting money on, even if you are happy to spend the time.

As the old phrase goes "two wrongs don't make a right".

Ignore and report the spammers, then move on. Plenty of forum posts to read and reply to.

OK, you are right, it's a bad idea.

You'll be playing into their hands. The whole point is you call the numbers and they make money off of it at a premium rate.

I suggest joining the other members in pushing for protective measures for the website and its instead.
