Keep getting back to safety warning on wrong planet

Don't know what to do because as I try to read sometime I can't carry on and can't find what I was looking at, anything I can do to turn it off?

Not sure if I fully understand your problem. The main Wrong Planet website is infected with malware. If this is the problem you are experiencing, sorry, there is no way to stop these pop-ups as far as I know. You need to make sure you are protected, that your computer security is up to date and enabled.

I've had a fair amount of problems with WP over the last few weeks, but after a lot of experimentation, installing, uninstalling, reinstalling and tweaking various things on my main desktop machine, seem to have an arrangement which works well, and will even display embedded videos in YouTube (which has been an issue in the past).

If anyone's interested, the setup is:

Browser: Google Chrome

Extensions: 'Https Everywhere' and Umatrix.

Antivirus: Windows Defender

The OS is Windows 8.1, but that's probably not relevant.


If you're having problems such as those mentioned in this thread and elsewhere, you probably have nothing to lose by trying this arrangement. I should mention that the two extensions do require a bit of research or at least trial and error in order to be set up properly, but Umatrix is a lot more straightforward with WP than on most other websites.

^ Probably spoke too soon - YouTube embeds have now disappeared again. Oh well, it was good while it lasted (about 12 hours).
