My "Foes" List

I have somebody set to my foes list and yet I still see their posts.

Why is that? How do I set things to where I can no longer read their messages?

Seriously though , the foe function does nothing except remind you who your foes are - in case you forget

I wonder if it ever worked, certainly hasn't in the years I've been here. Making it functional in an effective way would I think reduce stress levels for a lot of members, and that would be a good thing on a support website for AS people - people on the spectrum have enough life stresses to cope with, and the useless foe function adds to that.

Making it functional would probably also avert some disciplinary action which arises in some cases from stressed out members dealing inappropriately in response to "foe" attacks. The load on the mods would decrease generally too, perhaps which would all be good...

Sadly it doesn’t work, otherwise we’d all be happier in our echo chambers.
I’d foe a lot of people here. If I don’t see the horrible posts I won’t get worked up and depressed and I wouldn’t reply , I wouldn’t get anxious and I wouldn’t have panic attacks.

We could just create groups. And sections that only member of said groups can post in. Like anti trump and pro trump. So anti couldn’t post or see pro trump group section and vice Versa. Though i dont know where I’d go. I ran forums before i dont know what software wp uses but I imagine it has a groups option as it has member only sections. So everyone’s in a member group, and some sections are limited only to thst group.
I assume there’s a mod section for people in the mod group, probably an admin section for admin. But I also assume Alex doesn’t want to fragment a already small group of people. Aspies are a minority and those who find their way here w minority of thst minority.

I thought the foes list stopped you from getting PMs from the people in it.

I think you have to set up PM rules for this to happen , you can set up a rule where if 'x' messages you it goes straight in the bin. Fnord confirmed this as he has 17 members on his list , I'm on his s**t list but the funny thing is I've never sent him any nasty PM's ( nor would I , that's not my m.o)

I was in a bad mood one day and put all seven people from the same thread on that list. I'll take yours off now.

There. Now down to only 12 people. As far as the other four that I removed from that list ... there's a site rule against discussing banned members...

I guess it does no good to have a foes list if I can still see their posts anyways. I should practice the ancient art of ignoring people who piss me off.

And friends? Who needs friends? I have 5 friends I can name off the back of my hand!
