I'd like to suggest a limit to the number of threads that can be started in PPR in a given timeframe. Things like this have happened repeatedly over the last few years: PPR is ticking along, quite happily, perhaps not as exciting as it can be -but then- some barely literate cretin (they usually are terribly lazy typists or bad english speakers for some reason) comes along and starts tens of worthless threads in a few days or less, often with very little content and a whit of relevance to Politics, Philosophy or Religion. Most of these threads go ignored but the first page is filled with it, sometimes burying quite good discussions prematurely and it takes at least a fortnight before the bad smell dissipates and quality posters/discussions can return.

I think a limit might help, but I'm not sure what that limit should be.

A message can be reported for being off topic so presumably a thread can.

Are you talking about posters like ollychan, eilishbillie and doolaloo? I have a strong suspicion that they're all the same person.

This pretty much falls into the category of spamming. It happens in news and current events to. Such as one person posting five threads about Trump per day.

and then it's snook, what happened to no multiple accounts rule, only for the proles?

again the old suggestion, no posting in ppr before a basic amount of posts?

So you noticed that too? I'm pretty sure those weren't his only accounts and he'll keep coming back indefinitely...

That's the latest batch yes, but the phenomenon is recurring.

The post limit is 2 per day for any sub-forum.

As for OllyChan/Soonla/Snook, he's a stupid troll that keeps making sock puppet accounts. I whack them as they happen. Ollychan s too stupid to cover his tracks.

I don't believe there should be a limit----as long as people make threads that are of at least some interest.

I think that's too subjective so that's why there needs to be a limit rule. I personally don't want to see it go back to someone with an agenda popping in out of the blue and basically dominating a sub-forum when it gets close to election time.
