earlier when i signed in in a box came up saying i was blocked and asked me to send my email address to the administrator
i sent my email cos i thought i had broke a rule here or something but nothing in my inbox i hope this isnt a scam???

then it let me sign in by clicking on post reply on a thread so now im in
but im worried case iv sent my email to a hacker or something as im not up with all this technology has anyone else had this???

It’s a nuisance....I don’t think it’s harmful, though.

Nothing bad has happened to me as a result.

Unfortunately have not encountered the issue so cannot really comment (I guess that mods are exempt which unfortunately is not the case with the horrible Captchas). I think it is a genuine message and an email is sent to Alex. I also think it is usually given out incorrectly and is of little consequence. It isn’t the message given to users who have genuinely been banned so I think it is an example of a half-implemented feature.

Just to be clear, no insider knowledge, just what I have gathered from other people’s reports.

I'm having that same problem too, where the only way I can log in is through replying to a thread.

I know WP can have it's bugs but does it have to come up with something so misleading like telling you that you have been blocked? Perhaps that's why some members here have vanished and never came back, because they might have received this weird error message and took it personally.

I just had this problem today until I turned off the VPN.
