Is there any way I can slightly alter my username?

I'm just fed up with people keep mistaking me for a guy here. I have it in my profile info and my signature that I'm a female but sometimes people don't always look and then people still think I'm a guy.

Is there any way a site administrator can just feminise (if that's a word?) my username, such as Jo90, as Jo is usually a feminine alteration to Joe.

Please there must be something a forum administrator can do. I believe sometimes people who mistake me for a guy feel embarrassed afterwards, but sadly few decide to personally attack me because of it.

That's what I thought too when I messaged an admin a few days ago, but they told me that it's technically impossible, and that the only way is to create a new account and abandon your old one.

I didn't have any strong reason to change my name though (just "didn't like my old one"). Not sure if that's a factor or not.

Maybe an avatar would help?

I think an avatar image is always a good idea. For me at least it helps a lot in identifying a person throughout the forum, regardless of any implied information in the image -- like, there's at least one other guy who uses a female avatar, but I remember he's a guy anyway, because I remember him (partly thanks to his distinctive avatar). As for simply making your gender immediately clear though, I think the pink part of your signature right now is doing the trick pretty well.

Using a feminine avatar may help. Do you have a female character you like?

I'm not sure, as having a female character as my avatar might not always make it obvious that I am female.

I would like Marie from The Aristocats as my avatar, as I don't think many males will have that, but I don't know how to post pictures on WP.
