How to delete a thread?

Just as the title says.

You'll need to ask a moderator - and since we're both here, which thread?

I don’t see why we are not allowed to delete a thread ourselves. For me, if I want to delete a thread, I don’t want anyone else to know I had posted something before, so I just want to do it secretly, I guess?

If someone asks me this way, then I am not going to delete anything, really, but thank you. This may sound mean or selfish, yet I just think this way.

If I remember correctly, a member can request a thread that they started to be locked or (possibly) deleted.

Asking mods to delete or lock a thread that you did not start may not achieve the results you want.

You can delete a thread you started, provided no-one else has posted to it.
If you want to keep your request a secret, just PM a moderator and ask to have it removed. This is generally agreed where the thread is yours.
