Site is very slow loading lately

anyone else finding this, it's not just the usual mid afternoon (in australia) off air thing, it's all the time.

I find it very slow today and I've had a few times where WP's been offline (Server something error)

Some of us are getting on a bit and don't want to waste time like this...when you get to be an oldie you're not sure how many minutes you can waste in this way, lol.

vvvv Yes that's it, the MYSQL error. Had it about 4 times this afternoon.

The MYSQL error (site unavailable) happened twice while I was trying to submit posts-was afraid I'd lose that which I'd just spent over an hour writing & editing. Most recently Sat. 8:30 p.m. & Mon. 3:30 p.m. (Eastern U.S. time), when there were less than 400 members online-that's half as many as I see at other times. Stressful having to worry about this because it's unpredictable.
