If I could pick one thing to change, I would say it would be right groovay to have a 'search profile by username' option. It's rather annoying that you either have to go through hundreds of people to get the one you want, or you have to run along and find a post and then view the person's profile. It's even more annoying because in the Member List, you can click on the first couple of pages, the last couple, or the page before or after the one you are viewing, so you can't even just guess that someone is around about the 23rd page. I dunno... it's just handy for me to be able to look up user names and remind myself of just exactly who people are!

Oh yeah, and if someone could tell me why I now and a Phoenix AND a Veteran, I would be most grateful!

And a seach by age, location, or interests would be great.

I agree :: nods ::

The Phoenix and Veteran is to do with how many posts you've done. Veteran is added after 500 posts I think.

Woo hoo cool! Thanks for the explanation Galileo!

Oh, and I agree: search by location would be brilliant! Very handy for those of us who would like to meet people in real life!

*rolls eyes* Ok, so maybe you would have to just deal with going unfound? :lol: :P

It would also be a handy function for when you want to check up on people's most recent posts. Especially if you notice they haven't been posting in a while...

If you want to check on people's most recent posts, go into their profile (there's a profile link at the bottom of every post) and click on the "Find all posts by xxx" link under Total Posts.

Ahh no, I meant the handy function would be the profile search because then you could check up on people. Kinda hard to check their most recent posts when they haven't been posting and you can't find a post to check their profile from, ain't it? :winks:

Strike that, I just figured out how to jip the system! The url on the member list search always ends with = and a number that is a multiple of 50. This represents that the pages each contain 50 members. All you have to do is guess! So, instead of clicking 'next' 20 times, I can just estimate that a person whose name starts with P is going to be roughly the 1350th person on WrongPlanet in alphabetical order! If I come up with a page of T's, I know I have gone too far, and can go back to 1200! YAYNESS!! !

you can use the "search" option at the top of the page, type in the name of the person you want, select "search by topic", and bob's yer banananana!

have i said this before?

oh no - my brain hurts! 8O
