there is a good deal of discussion on sensory integration/processing disorder and ways to help the disorder, it is also one of my big intellectual obsessions... hence i would like to propose that a seperate subforum is created for sensory integration disorders and we could call it something interesting like "sensory palace" or something like that ha ha ha...

it would also allow for information to be seeked out on the topic much quicker easier and in a slightly smaller setting without having lots of unrelated topics making it hard to find.

anyone in agreement with me?

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

I think that a more appropriate term would be "Other Syndromes and Disorders Discussion Forum", but yes I can see it come in handy.

I think that could generally fall under stimming threads, IMO

That would go under general autism discussion. Is anyone really going to make enough threads about it for a whole section to be devoted to it?

I have felt that given this is an AS Forum, an Obsession Section would be highly appropriate.

he he he he he... i am also thinking of all the people who seek information about their relatives or kids sensory issues... why make people dig when we can have a seperate centralized place for all sensory information and talk

I don't know if a new section or not... but my sensory issues almost define me.

My sense of smell, especially of fragrance (including real fragrances, like flowers) and cleaning solutions, is increased so much that I am diagnosed as "allergic to fragrance." It is impossible for people without this problem to imagine what it is like. It means, for starters, that I am literally allergic to many people. I would love to be able to discuss this with others who have the same problem. Perhaps a separate section would help.

The kids one could be found/created in the Parenting Forum, I beleive. Relatives could just be regular AS Discussion.

Sensory issues make a very big part of my autism too. I'd appreciate such a forum that is specialised on sensory issues, no matter whether they're diagnosed separately or considered as part of an ASD. There's already a forum on social realtionships too, so I think it would be legitimate to have one about sensory issues too.

i am in huge agreement as i hardly have mental aspect except obsessiveness... other than that its all sensory... i think we should keep voting in this thread until it becomes so huge the admins HAVE to do something!
