This feels wrong.
There is a person who is a member posting advertisements for her website on WP. It doesn't look like it is for profit, but her posts are nothing but advertising for her site. I looked at the terms and conditions and it doesn't say anything about posting advertisements...

I think as a genuine spectrum site it should be allowed to stay - having said which, its best to ask the mods first before posting an ad for another site - and I don't think spamming it on several forums will go down well. There is a links section which members can submit links to also.

OK
She had so few posts, it looked to me like the only reason she joined was to advertise the site.

Edit: Added:
I just checked and all four of her posts are ads on various forums for the website.

Does my signature meet with similar disfavor? On my site, there is nothing for sale, there are no ads, even. All my pictures and MP3's are free, royalty-free, etc. But if it bothers members, I can remove it.

Websites in signatures or resular posts don't bother me. It's just the idea of joining only to advertise something.

Your 245 posts suggest you are participating on the site in the manner it was meant to be used :D

Um, I have to say I have been to your site before today and really like it, especially the zoo pictures.

Nueroman,

My first thought the same as yours...that it was inappropraite....but I checked out the site and it is very useful to our members. I'm still uneasy with it, especially as the four posts could be seen as spamming as well as advertising but they will stay for now.

Ed, a tag on the signature line from a long time and valued poster is waaaaaaaaaaay different. I like your zoo picts too, by the way.

I actually registered on that site a few days after it had been released, and I'd been meaning to make a post about it here, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. It looks like it'll be a really good resource once it has some more members.

The member may or may not have been aware of our policy regarding cross-posting. I think we should add it to the spectrum resources thread, but otherwise, I agree with what BeeBee's said.
