Some us are still "feeling out" our views on race. While I can surely respect why there are some restrictions of racially charged comments, there needs to be an outlet. Since image and emotion seem to rule the topic, no room gets left for unrestrained observation, conclusion and opinion. Are any of you bothered that racial opinions are dictated to you? We need an unrestricted place here to hash out thoughts on race without being told certain conclusions are "unacceptable". People who can't handle it can stay out of that area, similar to the way minors are expected to stay out of the adult discussion area.

PPR is more lax on rules regarding bigotry. We talk about all kinds of stuff there, but just know that once you cross a certain line even PPR frequenters will get sick of listening to you.

UncleBeer, I don't know what the history between you and Alex is, but if you saw the ongoing thread in News and Current events, Tailfins makes some pretty racist comments.

I'm not advocating banning anyone (and certainly not in a position to do so anyways, only mods and Alex can ban). I can't comment on whether or not you're racist as I haven't seen any indicators of that either way from you. I didn't feel like reading through your entire post history for signs of racism. I don't know what you're on about with "free discussion" so I'll just leave that alone.

There is no point to do such a thing because one there was already a heated debate on thread dealing with Judaism which wrong and then the color of your skin thread which is racist itself.

What amazes me is that Stormfront, a hard-core racist forum bores me to tears. The participants are like broken records. If you have a controversial point of view, at least be able to logically tell me WHY. I will do my best to wrap my mind around what's worrying you. Besides, I'm not really interested in pointless discussion. I know I have some hard-core opinions, but want to find out where Aspergers fits into them. I want to sort this out without someone pushing me into a point of view that I didn't come up with on my own.

I can appreciate that.
I can also support discussions like that.
I have seen some really good ones take a turn for the worse when two members get into a squabble with each other and drive the thread WAY off topic.

Right, Politics, Philosophy, and Religion. I spend a good bit of time there as I am fond of debate. We cover some pretty controversial topics, and generally (depending on how you phrase the start of a discussion) you can get serious, rational debate on just about anything. Well, for a while anyways. Eventually it's more or less guaranteed to deteriorate into flaming, but you might get a few good pages.
