Sometimes I have problems/questions that I need help with and don't know anyone who I can speak to so I have asked them on this website. More than once I haven't gotten a reply that I feel would help the situation. I hope I don't come off sounding ungrateful, or nasty.

I have considered that maybe my note was not written in a way that will solicit any advice. If that is the case could anyone offer any suggestions on how I could correct this?

The reason I used that subject line is that I'm wondering if this note will get the same results that I am referring to.

I do know that there are just some things that most people, I am assuming NTs, do not discuss. I would really like to discuss them with someone. When I don't I feel as though I am basically completely alone.

Could someone help me, please? If I haven't made the situation clear let me know and I'll answer the question. I really need help with this.

Thanks. irene

Sometimes it makes a big difference to the replies which forum section you post your query in.

Perhaps if you re-posted one of your questions here, and said where you posted it, it would be clearer what the problem is.

PS. I just noticed that Orbyss suggested this on your last thread. I think s/he may be right. Try the In Depth Adult section, or The Haven. :)

Another tip I would give is to be fairly concise and to the point. While most people tend to be helpful, they are likely to baulk if presented with a very long post. Long posts can be especially off-putting to people with Aspergers or those with attention deficit problems.

It can also help if you can express the nature of the problem concisely in the subject line so people who can help would be more likely to open the post in the first place. Just my two-pennyworth.

To Ouinon-Can I post the same message on another forum? I'm positive I've seen people complaning about this situation.

To TallyMan- I agree about the very long posts. When they get too long I lose interest. About subject lines I'm starting to think that one that sounds interesting will work even if it has nothing to do with my message. Got that idea after reading one that said someone is in love with a person from the website. Or a subject line with a sense of humor.

So what do ya think?

Thanks. irene
