Cloudflare message when trying to bump thread

I found a thread from 2005 which I fancied adding to but every time I try to post my reply in it, I keep getting a Cloudflare page appear asking me to verify I'm human. I do so, but I'm just taken back to the posting page and the reply not posted.

Why is this?

It has to do with CAPTCHA, NOT the fact that you are trying to respond to a TEN-year-old thread, and there are TONS of people having trouble (we have a thread with over 250 posts, about this). Why would you want to post to a thread that old? No.1, it's doubtful the people are still here, hence they won't respond to you; and no.2, there are enough people here that don't like those necro-bumps, and likely won't respond to you. Why not just start a NEW thread, with the same topic / info? The likelihood that people will respond is likely greater, if you do that. People don't like responding to old threads, because they feel duped, for instance.
