Why doesn't 'Wrong Planet' allow us to link to important articles on 'Aspies for Freedom'?
Both 'Wrong Planet' & 'Aspies for Freedom' are very important web sites. It is extremely important to have free flow of information between these two web sites.

Let's raise a toast to the future of Wrong Planet, Aspies for Freedom, Aspergian Island, Autreat, Autscape etc.
We need all work together for the enlargement of the world's active autistic community. There is much to be done!

Cheers :)

There's lots of Autism politics involved not only between websites but between organisations. :(

WP kicks AFFs sorry ass AFAIC.
One of the reasons for that is the fact that AFF allows certain members to get away with violating the rules because Larda "amy" Nelson and her sidekick couldbecousin happen to feel favorably towards such members. WP seems to be pretty good at making sure that everyone behaves themselves.

What kind of articles ?

All the websites/forums should be trying to raise awareness together IMHO over at SF we want awareness, But everyone is different some want a cure some don't and so on....

I didn't find AFF very welcoming or conducive to the flow of information, I found them down right paranoid to be honest. They come across more like supremist than just wanting normal freedoms. Most likely they would be the first to have a problem with this, I would have thought.

It is one thing being anti cure, it is another treating any kind of research or insight as an attempt undermine them, even when the conclusions are positive.

I came to this conclusion mostly just reading and going on there. I didn’t do anything to piss them off personally as far as I know. Other people I know have formed the same conclusion.

It may be different now.

To answer you question, yes I support the flow of information, but it doesn't work if it one way. Maybe the best thing is to have an ASD feed site that way you can have ASD related feeds from several site, and it could be anything from a small blog to a large community.

I don't know why you cannot provide a link to an article on AFF. I didn't realise there would be a problem with that. Alternatively why not just post the article on WP too?

If it is just shamelessly trying to steal members then I can understand why they might have a problem with it.

In theory not for profit causes should work together in practice they never do fully.

Yes, there should be open communication, as long as it is does not involve the copy-and-paste form of cross-posting. Links are better, as they lead to other websites where people might have a slightly different perspective on any given topic. But just a few caveats...

Challenge every claim; verify every detail; take nothing for granted; and make no assumptions.

I wish I knew ... it depends on the website. I suggest asking Lau or Sinsboldly. The way I understand it, "cross-posting" involves responding to a question from one thread with an answer in another.

Unfortunately, there is no global standard for cross-posting, or even "spamming" a thread. On one well-known composer's website, posting only "I agree" is considered spamming and is grounds for a warning from the mods, with repeated instances resulting in a complete ban of the individual from that website.

(EDIT: I'm currently running a 102°F fever and trying to type in dim light ... I don't catch the spelling errors until I've re-read the post a few times.)

Hmmm, I don't think quoting information and linking the source to be cross posting, which, from my perspective, it seems that was what the OP was talking about, if I'm not mistaken. And that would make the News and Current Events forum full of this violation.

According to MrMark, it depends on the context . But honestly, I really Dont think its such a good idea for AFF drama queens to come over to WP and start sh*t just to stir the pot. The folks who run WP do a VASTLY better job than Amy and Gareth do on AFF; No Wonder WP is so much more popular! :D

AFF is very much alive and well. Aspergian Pride Forums went offline a few months ago but their portal and
blogsite are still accessible.
