My career before this had me traipsing all over the globe. I found it very easy to pick up spoken languages like Arabic, German, Hongul, Hebrew/Yiddish, Spanish, French, Swahili, and Taglog. Now that I'm in college it is easier for me to communicate with my class/lab mates if I use their native Hindi/Chinese/Japanese. Unfortunately I cannot read or write any of these languages except German.

An unexpected benifit in my line of study is that I can pick up programming languages for computers in a matter of hours.

:D

(It is Sunday night and I make no guarantees that I used correct grammar in any of this)

I am not good at learning languages. I took one class and no matter how I tried I couldnt do the simpliest of words. They said I was butchering the language (Spanish). No matter how much I studied it I just couldnt do it. It just wasnt happening for me. That term I even let all my other classes go to hell for it cause I wanted to try but failed miserably.

I have a difficult time speaking another language (Spanish), but I can naturally understand Spanish, French, some Italian.... and I managed to help my friend on her Japanese homework even though I've never taken any classes or anything like that in regards to Asian languages! :|

I have a friend (also with AS) like that as well.
I'd thought that they just weren't interested as I'd thought that language ability was a natural part of AS.
It appears, perhaps, that I was wrong.

That's about all I have. I couldn't learn a language unless I was completely immersed in it. Even then, I would probably have problems. I only learned that after failing French and Spanish.

wow!! ! Aquí solemos tener solo uno... (año = year; ano = anus)

Anyway, I also speak english fluently (sort of), and I also write songs and poems in english... but you already know that...

Let's see...Right offhand I know Japanese. I started learning it when I was 12. They don't have a word for autism >_<;

I am taking Spanish in high school...bleh. Too easy.

I've picked up some Latin.

I know a bit of Greek too.

I use Babelfish for my Spanish work because I'm lazy. But I back-translate it until it makes sense.

I only watch anime, i dont study japanese, but i swear, too often do i catch myself understanding what theyre talking about.

I once watched FLCL almost all the way to the end and the whole time it looked somehow wrong but i couldnt tell what, and i realized that it was because i had the subtitles off.

It's really sad when you're able to help someone with their homework that's in a different language and you know nothing about that language. Which is how I am with Japanese. :|
