Actually, this whole thread stemmed from her saying that she couldn't do anything long-distance. Since she was unavailable at the time, I tried looking for someone else who *could* have some of those interests.

haha I hear ya! I've lived in the Panhandle for a year now and this place drives me f'ing nuts. Life in the military was fun until I came here thats for sure. Ive been all over Idaho and Montana and the younger girls the are far from conservative... Sigh if you lived up north you wouldn't need a girl! Trust me. So much to do. I'd give any girl up to go back there ASAP.

Basically any University that's not in the South. The students at my school seem pretty liberal, there's even a Progressive Student Alliance.

If it's liberals that you would like to meet, there's really no better place than a University (though avoid the business students). I'd say that even most non-liberals would probably meet your idea of liberalism. Abstaining from sex and crude television/movies is pretty outdated, even for those who aren't liberal.

Well, I'm screwed. Not only am I in the South, but in the worst part, too. I am on the border between Texas and Oklahoma.

Some of the Rocky Mountain states are equally conservative (particularly Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming).

Tim

Yeah, I guess Central is cool, in that sort of..."we grow lots of apples 'round these parts but we're still close enough to Yakima to get cheap crystal meth"-kinda way :colors:. Although it really is gorgeous there in the fall. Its a lot better than the arctic north of Western Washington U in Bellingham. I dunno, if a fancy Mercer Islander is happy out there, maybe I haven't given it a fair shake.

Tim....

I hope at some point you stop quitting things you start. Don't follow some of the mistakes we made with quiting things. I, myself have quit too many times, that it's hurt my reputation. Just about anyone you talk to will have possibly have gotten a bad grade in a class or two. Why, I even have my own history of lousy grades to. I have taken so many college classes for years and years, and havn't graduated once. Why? Because I quited and quited.

I kept feuling the self doubt I learned, by listening to it first before what really was true about myself. I find you doing some of the same things, so naturaly I share what I know.

"Liberal" means that she will answer yes if I ask her if she will watch South Park *or* have premarital sex with me.

If she says no, she's conservative.

That's most Americans, actually. As a matter of fact, Matt Stone himself admits to being more conservative than liberal.

Then how do I find someone who fits my description of "liberal"?

Specifically, as far as sex goes, I adhere to the "third date" rule.

I don't know. I was just noting that your definition of "liberal" was actually pretty typical, probably to the point of it really not being an issue.

Not where I live, it isn't.

In my area, there aren't any Aspies period. Getting rid of the other criteria wouldn't make any difference.

Why don't you just finish school so you can be free to live where you like? You've complained multiple times that there's nobody that meets your criteria in your area, so wouldn't it make sense to just buckle down and power through school and put dating on the back-burner for the time being?

Tim, there are plenty of Aspies in North Texas. I live here too. I know. But maybe they just aren't hanging out where you are! Maybe you need to find a group that could help you meet people.

If this girl is willing to consider moving here, maybe you could also cut her some slack on the other requirements. Your question was: isn't love supposed to be unconditional? That rolls both ways, guy.

So maybe she also doesn't even need to be Aspie; maybe she just needs to UNDERSTAND Aspie. There are even MORE of those out there. Liberal and not.
